"For me, art is medicine, meditation, and message. Each piece is an act of healing—a way to quiet my body, lower the weight of stress, and bring my mind into focus. But it is more than self-care. Creating is how I transform chaos into clarity, grief into expression, silence into form. The process of burning, layering, and painting is not only about making images; it is about making sense of my own journey and transmitting that awareness outward. I work with both precision and imperfection—clean edges and raw bleed—because I believe art must mirror life itself: structured yet human, ordered yet vulnerable. My work is a way of remembering who I am, and of sharing that resonance with others. Through each canvas, I hope not only to express my own truth but to open space for others to feel, reflect, and connect with their own."
Julie Christine is a multidisciplinary artist based in Arroyo Grande, California. With a background in photography, sound engineering and social artistry, her practice explores transformation, energy and the balance between structure and fluidity. Using fire, inks, stains and paints, she creates layered, textural works that draw on influences from Solar Philosophy, Alchemy and Sacred Geometry. Her work has been exhibited at the Orange County Center of Contemporary Art and The Bunker in San Luis Obispo, and is held in private collections, including Create Ideal Now, Resilient Rebirth and Nature. Her debut of sculptures revealed during SLO Open Studio Art Tours October 2025 participating with demonstrations of burning canvas. Julie continues to explore the intersection of material experimentation and philosophical inquiry in her evolving practice.

Woman
2024 - 2025, San Luis Obispo, CA
Resilient Rebirth is a powerful triptych that celebrates the strength, transformation, and self-empowerment of women who have forged their own paths and overcome adversity. Through three distinct yet interconnected works, Julie captures the journey of the self-made woman—one who transcends limitations, embraces her individuality, and stands proudly in her power.
In She Got Away, Julie begins with a bold, dynamic portrayal of liberation. Using a blowtorch to sketch the figure of a woman in hues of blue, she captures her emergence from the darkness of oppression into the light of self-awareness. With her third eye open, this woman breaks free from the constraints of people-pleasing, societal judgment, and toxic influences. The painting embodies the exhilarating moment of release, marking the joyous celebration of her newfound freedom and empowerment.
She Embraced continues this narrative of personal evolution, channeling the transformative power of self-acceptance. A figure bathed in soft pinks dances freely, her full dress and layers of petticoat symbolizing the freedom that comes with embracing one’s true self. This piece radiates a joyful energy, celebrating the authenticity that comes with loving oneself, and the magnetic power it has to attract like-minded souls. It’s a vivid tribute to the strength found in self-love and the empowerment that arises from inner peace.
In Ginger, Julie bridges history and contemporary expression, capturing the resilience of a woman who rises from the ashes of her past. The figure, part mannequin, part dress, symbolizes the delicate balance between form and transformation. Sacred geometry, imbued in the raw canvas, reflects the meditative journey of women across generations, while the figure stands poised—wearing the scars of her past with grace and asserting her place in a new world of self-empowerment. Ginger is a testament to the quiet yet profound strength of embracing one's journey, scars and all, and finding power in vulnerability.
Together, these three pieces form a cohesive narrative, honoring the unwavering strength, transformation, and authenticity of women who define their own destinies and embrace their power with grace. Resilient Rebirth is a celebration of women who, through self-empowerment, rise above their pasts, embrace their true selves, and carve out a space of strength and joy in the world.

Line & Circle
2006- Current, San Luis Obispo, CA
Raw canvas burned, layered with stain, inks, oils and paint touching on sacred geometry and the meaning of Create Ideal Now through lines and circles.
Create Ideal Now Is an ongoing series that explores the foundational elements of existence—the Line and the Circle—as symbols of creation, transformation, and the present moment. These two forms, when viewed from different perspectives, evolve into profound representations: the Circle and Dot (the astronomical sign for the Sun and the alchemical symbol of transformation), the Cross (the intersection of time and space, eternity and infinity), and the Masculine and Feminine principles that together generate all forms of creation.
This body of work is deeply influenced by Solar Philosophy, acknowledging the Sun as the ultimate energy source and metaphor for the Ideal. The interplay of Masculine and Feminine energies—thought and emotion, structure and fluidity, action and receptivity—serves as the catalyst for transformation, much like the principles of alchemy, kundalini energy, a
nd the Axis Mundi. These themes manifest through sculptural forms, geometric compositions, and conceptual arrangements that invite the viewer to engage with the eternal cycle of creation and presence.
At its core, Create Ideal Now is an invitation to explore the interconnectedness of thought, feeling, and action—the essential forces shaping our reality. It challenges the viewer to engage with the present moment, recognizing that we are constantly creating, evolving, and transforming in an infinite continuum of now.
